Named Droga5 London’s first female Chief Creative Officer in May, Shelley Smoler was undaunted by the challenge of taking the helm of a major creative department. She has hit the ground running, creating award-winning work and leading her team to significant new business wins. Before Droga5, Shelley and her creative partner were creative directors at Bartle Bogle Hegarty London, working on brands including Audi, Google, Heineken, KFC, Mentos and The Guardian. They were also part of the team that created a campaign for The Zimbabwean newspaper which would go on to receive over 50 awards, including a D&AD black Pencil, a Cannes Grand Prix and two Grand Clios, and is now part of the permanent collection at both the British Museum and the Design Museum.

Adam is an independent Creative Director specializing in strategy, editorial and entertainment for brands. He has created a long list of innovative and game changing work, from global campaigns, to feature documentaries for the likes of adidas, Nike, Converse, Puma, Beats, Johnnie Walker, Peloton and many other culture, tech and sports brands.

Grant is the Global ECD of iris based in London. During his time at iris he has led award-winning work for Samsung, adidas, COP26 and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games. He is the co-author of Newsjacking published by Thames and Hudson. He also sits on the Straight8 advisory board, he’s a long-time collaborator of the industry collective The Purpose Disruptors and is currently exploring the art of being a beekeeper.

Rebecca runs the Creative Insights team who set the content strategy for Getty Images. Rebecca also runs global research projects investigating the future of visual communications and has published many trend reports.

Rebecca leads the D&I initiatives at Getty Images and is particularly interested in evolving visual representation of women. She is lead on the #ShowUs partnership with Dove that has already won over 40 international creative awards including a Glass Lion and Effies.

In her day job Rebecca acts as a visual brand consultant for global corporations but also works on academic research, as well as lecturing around the world. Rebecca has been recognized as one of AdAge’s “20 Women to Watch” and is Campaign magazine’s Female Frontier honouree as well as being awarded the “Most Influential Leader in UK Visual Media”.

Mils has previously delivered compelling digital creative work for Emap, WarnerMedia, Hostelworld Group and Maple Syrup Media. Currently working for Tes, an edtech company, where she has built an international creative team to produce exceptional products utilised worldwide.

For the last 3 years I have been Managing Partner of Warm Street, focussed on working with brands who have a passion for music and culture, and who care deeply about how they work with communities. I've spent the last 10 years working in small and agile agencies, and have worked with brands such as Netflix, Dr Martens, Timberland, PUMA, Ballantines', Wray & Nephew, Converse, adidas, Spotify, The North Face & Berghaus.

Prior to that I spent time at the BBC, looking after Global event properties, and building multi million dollar experiences, events and live shows.

I started my career at Red Bull as a Student Brand Manager, and then worked for 10 years in house at the brand - leading the delivery of their major events marketing campaigns such as the first Red Bull Air Race in London, Red Bull X-Fighters at Battersea Power Station and Red Bull Cliff Diving. It was a great training ground and mindset for believing that anything is possible!

Having worked in agencies since 1996 leading the digital creative on accounts like Pepsi, Bacardi and Universal Music he moved to Dyson looking after all digital creative for their global digital channels. He now heads up the creative team responsible for the visual product interaction on the latest and future technology.

Over the last 20 years, Ashika has worked in the UK and Australia, on digital and integrated campaigns for household name brands.

A natural polymath, Ashika has a grounding in everything from coding and strategy to creative concept and content production. In line with the rapid evolution of digital and content over her career, she has curated and led diverse teams that sit within the overall integrated agency offering, ensuring ongoing business relevancy. As well as co-leading the Integrated creative department, over the past 5 years she spearheaded the krow content studio – leading in the production of quality inhouse content for food and lifestyle brands.

For more than a decade, Steve Poxson has been involved in Interactive Video. During his tenure as the creative lead at WIREWAX, Steve aimed to empower all creatives by providing them with the necessary tools to design their own distinct interactive experiences, in line with the evolution of video. He oversaw several projects, including the introduction of Interactive Video to Google TV, a SAAS studio tool, an AI-based Media Services tool, and the rebranding of WIREWAX. Presently, as the Design Manager for Interactive at Vimeo, Steve is responsible for identifying and resolving distinctive challenges through powerful tools that offer considerable value, allowing users to create content with greater efficiency, ease, and scalability.

An award winning marketer, Sadaf has been associated with the industry for over 23 years large part of which has been spent serving various roles within the Coca-Cola company. In her current role, Sadaf is leading Content Strategy for Global Nutrition Brands based out of UK. A firm believer in paying forward, Sadaf commits spare time to mentoring and coaching young professionals and invests time with various tech incubators back home in Pakistan.

Thom Gulseven Director of Creative Strategy, LADbible Group. Thom joined LADbible Group in 2020 to help establish the award-winning LADstudios where he is currently Director of Creative Strategy. LADstudios make digital-first Factual and Fact Ent shows, self-funded on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Snap, but also in partnership with brands. Previously he worked as a Commissioning Editor and Head of Digital Content Strategy at Channel 4 across a broad range of digital projects, such as TV shows-turned-digital like Skins and Made in Chelsea, and wholly digitally projects like Mashed, Four to the Floor, Comedy Sparks and True Stories.

Ciara is Creative Director and Managing Partner at McCann UK where she heads up Mastercard for UK and Europe while also being CD of McCann Demand, where she also works on Acer, Qatar Airways, Hargreaves Lansdown, JBL, Play OJO and Refuge.

In her career to date, she has created global campaigns for brands such as Amazon (Alexa/Echo), Bacardi, Diet Coke, Taco Bell, and Rimmel along with making work that has campaigned for sex worker rights to even achieving an official no.1 in the charts with the first song scientifically tested to make babies happy for Danone.

Besides having many industry awards for her work, she’s also personally been selected as a Campaign & Creative Equals ‘Future Leader, The Gerety Awards UK ambassador, one of The Dots International Trailblazing Women and an IPA Women of Tomorrow Finalist along with being on The Pitch 100 Superwomen list.

Richard joined independent creative agency BJL in 1999, as a junior Art Director, working his way up to Creative Director in 2015. BJL’s transitioned into the Dentsu network in 2018, Richard is now responsible for overseeing the creative output of the Manchester Brand transformation discipline of the new global creative agency, Dentsu Creative. Working on everything from the classic advertising channels to earned media, new tech and innovation. Malath Abbas is a game designer, artist and creative producer working on experimental and meaningful games and experiences in Scotland. Malath is a founding member of Biome Collective, a creative studio, community and digital space for people to create, collaborate and explore new frontiers in game design, digital art and technology.

Over 16 years experience as Creative Copywriter making ads for household names such as KitKat, Amazon Prime Video, Greggs, Ronseal, and the BBC. Rich Thrift is an innovative & entrepreneurial creative leader with global expertise across a multitude of mediums, technologies & sectors. He has lead great teams to make award-winning brands and campaigns in broadcast, advertising, digital, events and currently resides as the creative and brand lead at fintech Curve.

I started out drawing comics and designing heavy metal album covers in my native Denmark and am now an award winning Creative Director and Design Director, creating distinctive visual universes for brands, campaigns, and products.

A designer by trade with a specific passion for typography and branding. Progressed through various design roles into creative leadership, looking after global accounts.

From there I moved into a more studio / production leadership role as ops director for the agency , managing teams in multiple countries and time zones.

Finally landing on the ECD role, overseeing the output for the entire agency, shaping the creative strategy for the business.

Catherine is an experienced design and digital leader and has worked for some of the UK’s leading banks where she’s led on embedding and deepening a culture of customer-centricity through Design and Digital. She’s currently at Tesco Bank and her work includes redefining the customer experience strategy and how propositions are developed so that they focus on the needs of Tesco Customers.

Grace Francis is the Global Chief Creative and Design Officer of WongDoody. They teach design and ethics at HyperIsland and University of the Arts, London. Grace uses they/them pronouns.

Shaun Loftman is an Executive Creative Director at Landor & Fitch. He specialises in brand-led design and has worked across a wide range of disciplines including strategic brand positioning, creative strategy, visual identity, destination branding, packaging design, brand architecture, and experiential branding.

Shaun has gained extensive experience leading global projects and initiatives that has given him a broad appreciation of the new shifts in the world of branding. In his pan-regional role, Shaun drives creative thinking and design excellence to help organisations bring their brands to life. He leads brand transformation programs in multiple industry sectors.

Carol leads the in-house creative team at innocent drinks. As ECD she oversees OOH, packaging, shopper, digital and anything else that puts a smile on drinkers faces.

Previously Carol worked agency side as global Creative Director with Disney, Universal, Nickelodeon, MTV, Warner Bros and The Discovery Channel.

I’m a design director based in Manchester, I’ve formerly worked at Manchester based creative agencies, The Chase and True North and now head up the design team at Edit Brand Studio, working on brands and campaigns for leading arts and culture organisations including two recent rebrands for National Portrait Gallery and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. My work has had success on the awards circuit and has been featured by Creative Review, Design Week, It’s Nice That, Creative Boom, Design by Women, Wallpaper and Dezeen. I’m looking forward to being on the other side of the judging panel.

I'm into good design for; people, processes, products. I get excited about ideas with legs. My Career to date has been a bit all over the place! Freelance, design agencies, digital agencies, in-house, retail, TV... Currently I'm Head of Creative Services at University of The Arts London, where I've grown an internal design team from 1 in 2019, to 12 (and counting!) today.

Andy is the Digital Creative Officer within the University of Leeds public engagement team, working with researchers and academics to create inspiring and exciting public facing content in the form of video, animation and design.

Prior to working at the University of Leeds, Andy spent a decade in the film industry, working across production and post-production roles on award-winning international narrative features, short films and documentaries, as well as overseeing the technical delivery and event coordination of one of the UK’s leading short film festivals.
