Having been hired by Sir John Hegarty at BBH - which was awarded the most creative agency in the world 10 years in a row, Martin’s budding career as a milkman was cut short. However, he went on to create effective, award winning campaigns for brands such as Levi’s, Sony and Audi.
Martin then moved to Leagas Delaney to become head of art and partner to the legendry Tim Delaney. A lot of laughs and shouting led to more award-winning campaigns for Adidas, Harrods and Porsche. He also spent time in USA launching Leagas Delaney America.
In 1999, Martin started his own agency, Hooper Galton, which after 12 successful years was acquired by VCCP. Martin has won over 120 industry awards to date. He is also founder of Bang Said The Gun, a raucous weekly stand up poetry show at The Soho Theatre, London, where he performs regularly. Bang was recently voted the best poetry night in the UK by the Times.
In 2019, Martin founded Beehive, an agency alternative, where he is Creative Director.
